On April 10, the official White House social media account posted: "DO NOT RETALIATE AND YOU WILL BE REWARDED." On one hand, it brandishes hefty tariffs as tools of extortion; on the other, it threatens and intimidates other countries into silence and submission. Such tactics show a vivid image of the U.S. as nothing short of a blustering bully.
